Cookie & Tracking Notice

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Draft for review. This document is an engineering-grounded first draft. It is not legal advice and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.

The short version: the Seams website does not use cookies, and does not track you.

Cookies

The seams.is website sets no cookies — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for anything. Because we set no cookies and use no tracking technologies that require consent, there is no cookie banner, by design.

What the website does store

The website stores exactly one thing in your browser, using local storage:

  • seams-theme — remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance. It stays in your browser, is never sent to us or anyone else, and you can clear it any time via your browser’s site-data controls.

No third-party tracking

The website:

  • loads no third-party scripts, tag managers, or advertising/analytics SDKs;
  • self-hosts its fonts (no third-party font CDN);
  • makes no third-party network calls from your browser (release notes are compiled into the page when the site is built, so your browser contacts no external service to view them).

The desktop app

The Seams desktop app contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or tracking. At runtime it connects only to the sync relay you configure (by default relay.seams.is) to exchange your end-to-end-encrypted data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Changes

If we ever introduce anything that stores additional data in your browser or that would require consent, we will update this notice first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent.
